On to the Challenge!
I can’t recommend this post by Patrick Honner highly enough. In it he explains how you can decompose functions into odd and even components.
I like that, but let’s do the opposite. Let’s recompose a function from its odd and even parts.
Get at it! Go to desmos.com and try to find a function whose even and odd parts look like this.
Extra Credit: Recompose this guy.
For the first graph, is this the decomposition? Would that mean that the original function is e^(0.7x).
For the second graph, are these the seperate parts? Though if they are, I’m not sure how to put them together…
My first graph was exponential, and kudos for figuring that out!
My second graph is polynomial, and so are both of it’s decomposed parts.
