On to the Challenge!
Can you create the following graph using desmos.com or some other graphing tool? If you’re victorious, leave us a note in the comments when you’re done.
Can you do this with only one “equation”? To do the following piecewise function in desmos:
This is the same function in desmos:
f(x)={x<3:1,x>3:0}
Try to make this graph with one function!
Was able to get it. Did it by creating three separate equations then set up the brackets for a piece-wise and copy/paste. Pretty easy for student to follow.
It’d be nicer to have a traditional piecewise notation instead of all in a single line, but thinking of piecewise this way is a useful skill.
Was simple and good refresher to parabolas. Liked it, good challenge.
