On to the Challenge!

Can you create the following graph using desmos.com or some other graphing tool? If you’re victorious, leave us a note in the comments when you’re done.

1. Awww yes, lovin’ the dot challenges. My four solutions, although the third wouldn’t work if the pattern of dots continues above the line y=30.

1. Wow, those are awesome equations. Amazing work! It inspires me to go back and find others. My look lame compared to yours.

2. Thanks, makes me wonder what you had in mind 🙂 This is what I’m enjoying most about the dots-style challenges: Even after getting an answer, one still wonders how many more can be found. For example, how’d I overlook the conciseness of the LCM solution below?!

1. Can’t get much more to-the-point than your first solution. Intrigued by the polar equation. I didn’t come to any conclusions with your coefficients either, but it did inspire me to try some other polar approaches.

2. Well, done jsb16. That was one I used to plot the dots. As for your polar form, I don’t think the coefficients matter because the line have a slight curve to them.

Jerome, those polar equations are so sick. I love it to the nth radian!
