Did you know that babies need a ton of sleep? Precisely, newborns need about 16 hours of sleep, and grown-up people need just 8. (And folks sleeping in new beds while visiting new cities sometimes get under five hours and remain functional enough to write short graphing things on the internet. I’ve heard.)
Anyway, this site has a table that shows how much sleep is recommended for children of various ages. I put that stuff on a graph, and now I’m wondering if there’s an equation that comes close to fitting the points:
